Knowledge Management Systems/Services:

HGC has worked with organizations for 17 years capturing explicit and tactic knowledge in order to create content/document management systems, wiki's and blogs for clients. HGC's KM services have centered on providing our IT/IS, Project management, business analysis, and other skills/capabilities to help organizations identify, create, represent, and distribute organizational knowledge through the utilization of knowledge repositories, knowledge bases, expert systems, yellow pages, and communities of practice for internet and intranet solutions.

The primary focus of HGC's KMS has been to develop a change in the organizational structure to encourage and enable the organization to become a learning organization. The knowledge transfer with organizations has always existed in apprenticeship or mentoring programs,, yet this methodology has not enabled the tactic knowledge resources to be shared through the organization to help create comparative/competitive advantage. Our goal is to act a a champion of change to energize an organization to invest in the long-term capture and utilization of intellectual capital within the organization as another resource that must be developed in order to a new untapped revenue stream for profitability.

Our methodology includes the premise that:

The existing customer data and the organizational utilization of resources collected from all parts of the organization in order to coordinate and share the data throughout the organization, and a KMS system must be incorporated into the new IT/IS architecture developed during the re-tooling process. A knowledge management system is utilized to enhance customer service offerings. The first step in the creation of a knowledge management system is the definition of the knowledge the organization contains. Organizational knowledge is defines as: “Knowledge is a fluid mix of framed experience, values, contextual information and expert insight that provides a framework for evaluating and incorporating new experiences and information”.

For more information on our KM methodologies please read an excerpt from our Re-tooling Methodology appendix on the KMS process/system by clicking on the link above or here.
